Renee & others,
A Moodle is an Online Classroom Management System similar to Blackboard or
WebCT. If you have taken any online courses you probably used something
similar if not one of these.

We use Moodle for all of our PD training, workshops, classes etc. Some
classes we require a keyword/password in order to have access. Some are
open for all to see, simply log in as a guest. http://www.csdtechpd.org

Moodle is taking the place of webpages for many teachers, as it is
interactive. The teacher can have control of who logs on, have students
submit homework by uploading, conduct chats, blogs, create wiki¹s, or even
have quizzes or other assignments inside the Moodle. Whereas a webpage is
not interactive and cannot be manipulated or used in a secure way. Students
have access 24/7 and the teachers can give immediate feedback, not to
mention using a Moodle also saves trees!

I hope this helps!
Stephanie
