I teach 5th grade language arts. In social studies you study
Civil War time. I use a t-chart that is somewhat modified
for compare/contrast. We compare what life was like during
Civil War time to life today. The kids have to pick 2
catagories to write into their paper such as job,
transportation, powersources, technology, etc.... I think
Readwritethink has a site on writing compare/contrast that
has the kids follow certain steps. If I can find my graphic
organizer modified t-chart, I will forward it to you.
