At Warrensburg Middle School we have an interesting program in which we are
implementing the eMINTS program with Palm handheld computers (a one-to-one
program in which students use their handhelds in every class and take them
home every day). The entire 7th grade is involved with this program.
We have an opening for a 7th grade Life Science teacher in this program.
This is a truly unique teaching opportunity. Not only is the position part
of the eMINTS handheld program, but the classroom is a living laboratory,
with dozens of living classroom animals that are used in the Life Science
curriculum (snakes, lizards, birds, hedgehogs, and much, much more). The
classroom was designed specifically for this, with a custom ventilation
system and shelving.
So we are looking for a teacher who loves science, nature, middle school
students, and technology integration! We not only provide training for
incoming teachers, we also provide ongoing enrichment training for our
eMINTS teachers every year.
If you know of anyone that might be interested in this very unique position,
please have them contact me (ssmith at warrensburg.k12.mo.us) or the Principal
of the school, Jim Elliott (jelliott at warrensburg.k12.mo.us or 660-747-5612).
