Weekly Update over Summer: Beginning with next week, the Weekly Updates will be provided every other week through the summer months. New and Updated eThemes will also be published every other week through summer. Please continue to make eThemes requests as usual and they will be filled within the timeframe noted on the request page. Since eThemes resource scouts (graduate students) are on break this week, there are no new or updated eThemes for publication.

Calling All Veteran eMINTS and eMINTS4All Teachers in All States: If you have already completed the attendance requirements (attending 80% of sessions over 2 years) for the eMINTS Comprehensive or eMINTS4All program and were trained by an eMINTS staff member or certified eMINTS instructional specialist who graduated from the PD4ETS program, you may be eligible to submit an electronic portfolio for evaluation in becoming listed as a certified eMINTS teacher. Watch for details over the next several months. In the meantime, dust off your classroom website and make sure it is up to date. Look through your WebQuests (original only please) and choose your best - make sure all the links work. Think about all of the inquiry-based lesson plans you have taught and select your favorite. If the lesson plan is not already in the eMINTS Constructivist Lesson Plan format, check out the downloadable Word version at: http://www.emints.org/tools/index.shtml and put your lesson plan into that format. Spend some time this summer preparing your portfolio items for submission in the 2008-2009 school year. There will be a one-time offer for a no-cost portfolio evaluation. Details are being developed now and a;; submission information will be announced on the Weekly Updates and posted on the eMINTS website.

Missouri Summer Workshop Registration Continues: Online registration for summer eMINTS workshops continues at: http://www.emints.org/events/summer2008/index.shtml <http://www.emints.org/events/summer2008/index.shtml> Programs for Veteran eMINTS teachers are available in St. Louis and Springfield while new offerings for all eMINTS and non-eMINTS teachers on interesting new topics are available in Columbia and St. Louis. Check out the new Web 2.0 tools workshop in Columbia to learn about blogs, wikis and other ways to energize your classroom. A special workshop on bringing inquiry to the typical school field trip will be offered in St. Louis.

Missouri State Teacher Association Journal Article Author Needed: One more author is needed to pen an article for the eMINTS column in the MSTA journal for the 2008-2009 school year. If you are interested in working with an eMINTS staff member to create an article about technology and teaching, several topic options are still available. Send an email with you name, grade level, school district and contact information to emints-info at emints.org <mailto:emints-info at emints.org> if you are interested. Authors must be members of MSTA or independent.
