Thanks so much. I've been looking for something like this and thought I might have to create. Our building will really appreciate this. Thanks again, Marsha Jo

I have found the following resource to be of great help when talking about any type of tolerance issue:
 teachingtolerance.org
They have entire kits, lessons, posters, and more available for free to educators!
Hope this helps!

I am looking for any lesson ideas for a unit on racism and stereotyping in
a 6-8 "Teen Issues" class. I am more wanting to focus on current events
and ideas, rather than on a simple history of the civil rights movement.
My students seem to have trouble realizing that just because one or two
people from a minority ethnic group have done something negative to them
in the past, it doesn't mean that EVERY member of that group behaves in
that way. These types of ideas are what I want to focus on.

Thank you very much!

Does anyone have a document that lists all the shortcut keys in SMART
Notebook? Thanks!

Gina,
I've posted a list that I had at http://www1.center.k12.mo.us/edtech/SB/resources/keystroke_marks.pdf. I have found it works best to have a text box open in Notebook first, then type the keystrokes. These are mostly for foreign languages.

There also are scientific notations in the font toolbar for math and scientific notations. To access the font tool bar, open a text box in Notebook. However, if you are using 9.7, this feature is almost hidden. You'll need to look clear to the right side of the font toolbar to access it - you'll see the alignment, sub- and super-script. Then you'll need to look closely to see just the beginning of a very small dash for the scientific notation - a Notebook glitch, but it's there! Click on that very small dash to open the menu of options.

Hope this helps!
Colleen

Hello lady--
How are you these days? I hope your school year is going well. Mine has been chaotic to say the least, I can hardly wait for a break. Since I have seen you during emints training I have gotten my masters degree, become certified in administration and am now working on my doctorate. Tell me what you are up to and keep in touch. Take care.
Debi
