My kids did wonderful movies about the branches of government last year.
We worked in groups of 3-4. Each child researched a branch of
government or the constitution. The kids then came together and wrote a
script. They used photographs and narrated. The results were awesome!

Good morning!
Our training session last night covered Multimedia Projects. I was
wondering what others are doing with Movie Maker in your rooms? Are
you
integrating it into WebQuests or other classroom activities? What
types of projects are you doing?
This is what I have done -
http://www.center.k12.mo.us/edtech/powervocab/index.htm. This was
a project where a group of kids would choose a process word.
(Analyze,
infer, predict, etc.) They define the word in their own terms, solve
a
problem that requires them to applying the process word, and finally
develop a script (with transitions, key vocabulary addressed, etc.)
explaining what their word means and the process of applying it in
solving a problem. So the video shows all this along with their
explanation as they are working through a given problem. The idea
with
this is that it reaches beyond the basic facts and into the processes
for working through problems - including MAP testing.
I would love to know what else is being done with Movie Maker in the
classroom!
Thanks!
Colleen
