I use "Great Scientists in Action" by Ed Shevick for grades 4-8. (The
Teaching and Learning Company, 1204 Buchanan St., P.O. Box 10, Carthage,
IL 62321-0010) It has scientists such as Aristotle, Einstein, Galilei,
Newton,Franklin, Darwin, Pasteur, Mendel, Edison and many more.

One of the GLE's for fourth and fifth grade asks students to research
biographical information about scientists and inventors from different
genders and ethnic backgrounds. Does anyone have a list of scientists
and inventors that they use? Also, I'm trying to figure out if I want
to study inventors during each unit that pertain to that unit or do a
separate unit on scientist. How do you do it?
Thanks,
