[eMINTS] absent assignment sheets

Similarly to Jennifer, I type the daily assignments into SMART Notebook
each day. The students write them in their planner first thing in the
morning. At the end of the day we take 5 minutes to open it up again
and review what we've done and anything that might be homework.
Another thing I am not doing this year, but did for several years was to
put my lessons on my website. Then students who were absent could go to
the website. I tried to attach papers I had created and the links we
used that day were embedded already. That saved me tons of time. I
only had to send home papers that I had not created. That doesn't work
well if your students do not have Internet access, but if most do, it is
a lifesaver.

When I had my eMINTS classroom, I made a template in Inspiration
(similar to SmartIdeas) and then assigned one person each week to be in
charge of filling in the assignments, activities, websites etc. we used
during the day in the template. That was saved in a shared folder so
when any student was called out of the room during an assignment or was
absent, they could pull up the days work.
The template was just a web with the day/date and each subject in a
"bubble" as well as a bubble for the project we were working on at the
time.

Oops...I didn't realize that attachments couldn't be attached! So, here
is
a copy of it. (It is a little off-centered, but you get the idea.) I
just
circle the area and make any needed notes.
