While we don’t have Elmos in our lower grade classrooms, we have encouraged our teachers in upper elementary grades to use them for an instant display/showcase of student work, showing exemplar samples, peer/class editing, grading student work according to MAP rubrics, illustrating steps in a process, and so on. These illustrate the interactiveness and student engaged activities the Elmo has to offer. However, it’s also all too easy just to throw on workbook to display seatwork, DOL, etc. - loosing out on some of the power the Elmo has to offer, but a use nonetheless.

Are there any lower grade level teachers who currently use a document
camera, such as the Elmo, who could give me some ideas on using it in
the classroom?
Thanks,
