I have also used ePALS in the past and found it to be very easy to use.
I was able to preview all incoming/outgoing e-mails and talk to students
who responded inappropriately. I like the idea of using it for kids to
respond to their independent reading.

Subject: Re: [eMINTS] email accounts for students

I use ePals accounts for my students. When we start I email them and
give them directions to email me back about a certain topic. I count
this as a communication arts grade based on their paragraph.

Another thing we do is letters to the teacher for independent reading.
I have had my students write their letter to me via email.

With ePals I have the accounts set so that every email comes to me for
previewing first. It is a pain, but for the first time this year I had
bullying going on with some of my girls and I caught it in the emails.
